TL;DR
This paper investigates how gravity influences sound modes in superfluids, deriving a generalized Jeans instability condition and discussing possible experimental observations.
Contribution
It introduces a generalized Jeans instability criterion for superfluids, extending the classical understanding from normal fluids.
Findings
Derived a new instability condition for superfluids under gravity
Generalized the classical Jeans instability to superfluid systems
Discussed potential experimental implications of the instability
Abstract
We analyze the effect of a gravitational field on the sound modes of superfluids. We derive an instability condition that generalizes the well known Jeans instability of the sound mode in normal fluids. We discuss potential experimental implications.
