The $\bar{p} p \to \phi \phi $ reaction in an effective Lagrangian approach
Ju-Jun Xie, Li-Sheng Geng, Xu-Rong Chen

TL;DR
This paper models the ar;p p d7 f reaction using an effective Lagrangian approach, demonstrating that including scalar or tensor mesons explains observed cross section features around 2.2 GeV.
Contribution
It introduces a novel effective Lagrangian model incorporating scalar and tensor mesons to better describe the ar;p p d7 f reaction data.
Findings
Scalar or tensor mesons improve the fit to experimental data.
Resonance properties are inferred from the model fits.
The approach explains the bump structure in the cross section.
Abstract
We investigate the reaction within an effective Lagrangian approach. We show that the inclusion of either a scalar meson or a tensor meson in the -channel can lead to a fairly good description of the bump structure of the total cross section around the invariant mass GeV, which cannot be reproduced with only the "background" contributions from - and -channel resonance as studied in a previous work. From the fits, we infer the properties of the involved scalar or tensor resonances.
