Marcela Catalan, Yerko Vasquez

TL;DR
This paper investigates scalar field behavior around a three-dimensional Lifshitz black hole in conformal gravity, analyzing reflection, transmission, absorption, quasinormal modes, and stability, revealing that absorption vanishes at frequency extremes.
Contribution
It provides the first detailed analysis of scalar perturbations, including absorption and quasinormal modes, for Lifshitz black holes in three-dimensional conformal gravity.
Findings
Absorption cross section vanishes at low and high frequencies.
Quasinormal modes are determined and analyzed.
Black holes are stable under scalar perturbations.
Abstract
We study the reflection and transmission coefficients and the absorption cross section for scalar fields in the background of a Lifshitz black hole in three-dimensional conformal gravity with , and we show that the absorption cross section vanishes at the low and high frequency limit. Also, we determine the quasinormal modes of scalar perturbations and then we study the stability of these black holes under scalar field perturbations.
