How Strong Are Streak Artifacts in Limited Angle Computed Tomography?
Linh V. Nguyen

TL;DR
This paper investigates the severity of streak artifacts caused by limited angle data in computed tomography, providing a characterization of their strength to improve understanding of reconstruction limitations.
Contribution
It offers a detailed analysis of the strength of streak artifacts in limited angle tomography, advancing the theoretical understanding of artifact formation.
Findings
Artifacts are characterized in terms of their strength.
The analysis reveals how artifacts depend on data limitations.
Provides insights for improving reconstruction methods.
Abstract
In this article, we consider the limited angle problem in computed X-ray tomography. A common practice is to use the filtered back projection with the limited data. However, this practice has been shown to introduce the artifacts along some straight lines. In this work, we characterize the strength of these artifacts.
