Signatures of Extra Dimensional Sterile Neutrinos
Werner Rodejohann, He Zhang

TL;DR
This paper explores how sterile neutrinos arising from extra dimensions could explain neutrino anomalies and dark matter, analyzing their effects on oscillation experiments and beta decay spectra.
Contribution
It introduces a model with sterile neutrinos from extra dimensions and investigates their experimental signatures in oscillation and beta decay data.
Findings
Sterile neutrinos can explain short-baseline anomalies.
Kaluza-Klein tower impacts oscillation patterns.
Potential signals in KATRIN-like beta decay experiments.
Abstract
We study a large extra dimension model with active and sterile Dirac neutrinos. The sterile neutrino masses stem from compactification of an extra dimension with radius and are chosen to have masses around eV or keV, in order to explain short-baseline anomalies or act as warm dark matter candidates. We study the effect of the sterile neutrino Kaluza-Klein tower in short-baseline oscillation experiments and in the beta spectrum as measurable by KATRIN-like experiments.
