TL;DR
This paper provides accurate analytical parametrizations of gamma-ray production cross-sections from proton-proton interactions across a wide energy range, from threshold to PeV energies, using Monte Carlo simulations and published data.
Contribution
It introduces new simple analytical formulas for gamma-ray spectra and production rates in p--p interactions over a broad energy spectrum, improving modeling accuracy.
Findings
Parametrizations achieve ≤20% accuracy.
Applicable from kinematic threshold to PeV energies.
Based on Monte Carlo simulations and published data.
Abstract
Using publicly available Monte Carlo codes as well as compilation of published data on p--p interactions for proton kinetic energy below 2 GeV, we parametrize the energy spectra and production rates of -rays by simple but quite accurate () analytical expressions in a broad range from the kinematic threshold to PeV energies.
