TL;DR
This paper investigates M5-brane configurations in AdS$_4 imes Q^{1,1,1}$, constructing solutions dual to line defects, analyzing their supersymmetry properties, and comparing with previously known BPS solutions.
Contribution
It presents new M5-brane solutions with AdS$_2$ factors in AdS$_4 imes Q^{1,1,1}$ and examines their supersymmetry, expanding understanding of defect configurations in this background.
Findings
Constructed two non-supersymmetric M5-brane solutions with AdS$_2$ embedding.
Confirmed previously known M5-brane solutions with AdS$_3$ are half-BPS.
Identified the BPS nature of various M5-brane configurations in the background.
Abstract
In this paper, we study the M5-brane configurations in AdS spacetime. We consider the configurations with an AdS factor embedding into AdS, and manage to construct two solutions, which could be dual to line defects in the boundary gauge theory. Moreover we discuss their BPS nature and find that neither of them is supersymmetric. We show that the M5-brane with a R or an AdS factor found before is half-BPS.
