A neutron transmission study of environmental Gd
Cristiana Oprea, Ioan Alexandru Oprea, Alexandru Mihul

TL;DR
This paper introduces a neutron transmission method to measure environmental gadolinium (Gd) by analyzing neutron spectra passing through samples, enabling new data on Gd concentration and resonance properties.
Contribution
The paper presents a novel neutron transmission technique for environmental Gd analysis, providing detailed spectral data for concentration and resonance parameters.
Findings
Determined Gd concentration in environmental samples.
Extracted resonance energies and cross sections from neutron spectra.
Validated the neutron transmission method for Gd detection.
Abstract
A new method for the determination of environmental Gd by neutron transmission (NT) experiments is proposed. The NT method is based on the measurements of neutron spectra passing through a target. From the attenuation neutron spectra new data as concentration, width, resonance energies and cross section have been obtained.
