TL;DR
This paper proposes a model extending the standard model with an extra scalar field non-minimally coupled to gravity, dynamically generating the Planck scale from a weak scale, aiming to address the gauge hierarchy problem.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approach where a non-minimally coupled scalar field creates a large hierarchy of scales through spontaneous symmetry breaking.
Findings
Planck scale emerges dynamically from the weak scale.
The model offers a new solution to the gauge hierarchy problem.
The scalar field's non-minimal coupling is key to scale generation.
Abstract
In this paper, a model is proposed to solve the gauge hierarchy problem. Beyond the standard model, we introduce an extra scalar field that non-minimally couples to gravity. The fundamental scale is set at weak scale and Planck scale emerges dynamically by a spontaneous symmetry breaking mechanism.
