Md. Arafat Hossain, John Canning, Sandra Ast, Peter J. Rutledge, Teh, Li Yen, Abbas Jamalipour

TL;DR
This paper introduces a smartphone-based portable fluorometer with a 3D-printed sample chamber for field pH measurements of environmental water, offering a compact and accessible alternative to traditional electrode methods.
Contribution
It presents a novel, portable fluorometer integrating smartphone technology and 3D printing for environmental water pH measurement in the field.
Findings
Comparable accuracy to conventional electrode measurements
Easy to use and portable design
Potential for widespread environmental monitoring
Abstract
A novel portable fluorometer combining the attributes of a smartphone with an easy fit, simple and compact sample chamber fabricated using 3D printing has been developed for pH measurements of environmental water in the field. The results were then compared directly with those obtained using conventional electrode based measurements.
