TL;DR
This paper estimates the likelihood of directly producing the X(3872) state in electron-positron collisions using the vector meson dominance model, providing theoretical predictions for its production width.
Contribution
It applies the vector meson dominance model to estimate the direct production width of X(3872) in e+e- collisions, offering new theoretical insights.
Findings
Estimated width of X(3872) to e+e- is ≥0.03 eV.
Predicted width for χc1 decay is around 0.1 eV, aligning with previous estimates.
Discussed experimental prospects for observing X(3872) in e+e- collisions.
Abstract
Direct production of the charmonium-like state in collisions is considered in the framework of the vector meson dominance model. An order-of-magnitude estimate for the width is found to be 0.03 eV. The same approach applied to the charmonium decay predicts the corresponding width of the order 0.1 eV in agreement with earlier estimates. Experimental perspectives for the direct production of the charmonia in collisions are briefly discussed.
