TL;DR
This paper investigates the quasineutral limit of the isothermal Euler-Poisson system for ions in bounded domains, focusing on supersonic outflow velocities and the associated boundary layer structures and stabilization mechanisms.
Contribution
It extends previous work by analyzing the quasineutral limit under supersonic outflow boundary conditions, revealing different boundary layer structures and stabilization mechanisms.
Findings
Different boundary layer structures identified for supersonic outflow.
Stabilization mechanisms vary with boundary conditions.
Enhanced understanding of quasineutral limits in bounded domains.
Abstract
In this paper, we study the quasineutral limit of the isothermal Euler-Poisson equation for ions, in a domain with boundary. This is a follow-up to our previous work \cite{GVHKR}, devoted to no-penetration as well as subsonic outflow boundary conditions. We focus here on the case of supersonic outflow velocities. The structure of the boundary layers and the stabilization mechanism are different.
