Theory of rare charm decays
Svjetlana Fajfer

TL;DR
This paper reviews the theoretical understanding of rare charm decays, focusing on CP violation and potential signals of physics beyond the Standard Model, motivated by recent experimental discrepancies.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive review of CP conserving and violating contributions in rare charm decays within and beyond the Standard Model.
Findings
Discrepancies in CP asymmetry measurements motivate new studies.
Analysis of inclusive and exclusive rare charm decay channels.
Potential signals indicating physics beyond the Standard Model.
Abstract
Recent disagreement between experimental measurments of CP violating asymmetry in D -> K+ K- and D ->pi+ pi- and theoretical Standard model expectation motivated many studies within the Standard model and beyond. Rare charm decays offer new probe of possible signals beyond Standard model. CP conserving and CP violating contributions within the Standard model and beyond are reviewed for inclusive c -> u gamma and c ->u l+ l- and exclusive D ->V gamma, D ->P+ P-, D+ -> pi+ l+ l-, D -> l+ l- decays.
