TL;DR
This paper demonstrates two-photon interference effects using continuous-wave multi-mode coherent light, revealing beating fringes and Hong-Ou-Mandel phenomena dependent on detection timing and optical delay.
Contribution
It introduces the observation of two-photon interference with multi-mode coherent light, highlighting the dependence on detection timing and coherence revival.
Findings
Two-photon beating fringes with visibility 0.5 observed.
Hong-Ou-Mandel dips or peaks depend on detection time difference.
Dips/peaks repeat with optical delay matching coherence revival period.
Abstract
We report two-photon interference with continuous-wave multi-mode coherent light. We show that the two-photon interference, in terms of the detection time difference, reveals two-photon beating fringes with the visibility . While scanning the optical delay of the interferometer, Hong-Ou-Mandel dips or peaks are measured depending on the chosen detection time difference. The HOM dips/peaks are repeated when the optical delay and the first-order coherence revival period of the multi-mode coherent light are the same.
