Abstract
The cross sections of \ absorption by nucleons are calculated in meson-baryon exchange model using hadronic Lagrangian based on SU(4)/SU(5) flavor symmetries. The values of different coupling constants used in the model are obtained from vector meson dominance model, QCD sum rule or SU(4)/SU(5) flavor symmetries. Calculated values of cross sections are found to be significantly different from the previous study in which b-flavored hadron exchange is neglected. These results could be useful in calculating production rate of meson in relativistic heavy ion collisions.
