H\'ector Manuel Moya-Cessa, Demetrios N. Christodoulides

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates a straightforward method to measure the Wigner function of a harmonic oscillator and establishes the equivalence between autocorrelation and Wigner functions for this system.
Contribution
It introduces a simple measurement mechanism and proves the equivalence between autocorrelation and Wigner functions for harmonic oscillators.
Findings
Autocorrelation and Wigner functions are equivalent for harmonic oscillators.
A simple measurement mechanism for the Wigner function is proposed.
The relationship simplifies the analysis of quantum states in harmonic systems.
Abstract
We show a simple mechanism to measure the Wigner function of a harmonic oscillator. For this system we also show that autocorrelation and Wigner functions are equivalent.
