TL;DR
This paper establishes a criterion for identifying when an open book contains an iterated Hopf plumbing, and demonstrates that fiber surfaces of positive braid knots have a trefoil plumbing structure.
Contribution
It introduces a new criterion for detecting iterated Hopf plumbing in open books and applies it to positive braid knots.
Findings
Fiber surfaces of positive braid knots admit trefoil plumbing structures.
A new criterion for n-times iterated Hopf plumbing in open books.
Application to specific classes of fibered knots.
Abstract
We give a criterion for an open book to contain an n-times iterated Hopf plumbing summand. As an application, we show that fibre surfaces of positive braid knots admit a trefoil plumbing structure.
