Relevance of Two Boson Exchange Effect in Quasi-Elastic Charged Current Neutrino-Nucleon Interaction
Krzysztof M. Graczyk

TL;DR
This paper evaluates the two boson exchange correction to quasi-elastic charged current neutrino-nucleon scattering at 1 GeV, finding a 1-4% impact on cross sections and discussing its relevance to systematic discrepancies between electron and muon neutrino interactions.
Contribution
It provides the first detailed calculation of TBE effects in neutrino-nucleon scattering at GeV energies, highlighting their significance for cross section accuracy.
Findings
TBE correction is about 2-4% for electron neutrinos.
TBE correction is about 1-2% for muon neutrinos.
Impact on systematic differences between $ u_e$ and $ u_$ cross sections.
Abstract
Two boson exchange (TBE) correction to the cross section for the quasi-elastic charged current and scattering is evaluated. The TBE is given by box diagrams. The calculations are performed for 1 GeV neutrinos. The averaged TBE correction is of the order of (with respect to Born contribution) in the case of and and in the case of and . The impact of the TBE effect on the systematic discrepancy between the and cross sections is discussed.
