L.C. Bland (for the AnDY Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports the first measurements of forward jet production and associated spin asymmetries in polarized proton collisions at RHIC, providing insights into the proton's internal spin structure and transverse momentum correlations.
Contribution
It introduces the first experimental data on forward jet production and single spin asymmetries at RHIC energies, exploring spin-momentum correlations in the proton.
Findings
Observation of transverse single spin asymmetries in forward jet production
Evidence supporting spin-momentum correlation hypotheses
Insights into orbital angular momentum contributions in the proton
Abstract
We present first measurements of forward jet production from p(pol)+p collisons at \sqrt{s}=500 GeV, including transverse single spin asymmetries. These asymmetries are expected to be sensitive to spin-correlated transverse momentum in the initial state, which is particularly interesting because it is related to orbital angular momentum in the proton.
