The entropic pressure of a lattice polygon
F. Gassoumov, E.J. Janse van Rensburg

TL;DR
This paper investigates the entropic pressure around a 2D lattice polygon, modeling a planar ring polymer, by analyzing how pressure scales with distance and polygon length through numerical testing.
Contribution
It introduces a scaling analysis of entropic pressure near lattice polygons and validates it with numerical experiments, advancing understanding of polymer physics models.
Findings
Pressure scales with distance and polygon length.
Numerical tests confirm the scaling behavior.
Provides insights into ring polymer entropic effects.
Abstract
The entropic pressure in the vicinity of a two dimensional square lattice polygon is examined as a model of the entropic pressure near a planar ring polymer. The scaling of the pressure as a function of distance from the polygon and length of the polygon is determined and tested numerically.
