Electroweak limits on physics beyond the Standard Model
J. de Blas

TL;DR
This paper reviews how electroweak precision measurements constrain new physics beyond the Standard Model using a model-independent effective Lagrangian approach to set limits on higher-dimensional operators.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive, model-independent analysis of electroweak constraints on new physics using effective field theory techniques.
Findings
Stringent limits on dimension-six operators
Constraints on popular new physics models
Updated electroweak fit results
Abstract
We briefly review the global Standard Model fit to electroweak precision data, and discuss the status of electroweak constraints on new interactions. We follow a general effective Lagrangian approach to obtain model-independent limits on the dimension-six operators, as well as on several common new physics extensions.
