TL;DR
This study analyzes chromospheric variability in M active stars using multiple observations from the Guoshoujing Telescope, revealing significant variability in key spectral lines over various timescales.
Contribution
It provides the first large-scale analysis of chromospheric variability in M active stars based on LAMOST data, highlighting the dynamic nature of these stars.
Findings
Many M active stars exhibit chromospheric variability.
Variability observed in Ca H, Hα, Hβ, and Hγ lines.
Variations occur over both short and long timescales.
Abstract
For the M active catalogue of Guoshoujing Telescope (LAMOST), 933 sources are presented in at least two exposures. We found that many M active stars show chromospheric variabilities in the Ca H, H, H, and H lines on short or long timescales.
