Excitation of two-dimensional plasma wakefields by trains of equidistant particle bunches
K.V.Lotov

TL;DR
This paper investigates how nonlinear effects influence the elongation of plasma wakefields in two-dimensional settings, focusing on wave detuning and amplitude limitations caused by driver parameters.
Contribution
It provides a numerical study of nonlinear elongation effects and identifies amplitude limitations due to wave and driver detuning in 2D plasma wakefields.
Findings
Nonlinear effects cause elongation of plasma wave periods.
Wave and driver detuning limit wakefield amplitude.
Numerical analysis emphasizes two-dimensional wave dynamics.
Abstract
Nonlinear effects responsible for elongation of the plasma wave period are numerically studied with the emphasis on two-dimensionality of the wave. The limitation on the wakefield amplitude imposed by detuning of the wave and the driver is found.
