Search for Impact Craters in Iran: Citizen Science as a Useful Method
Hamed Pourkhorsandi

TL;DR
This study explores using citizen science and Google Earth data to identify potential impact craters in Iran, with initial findings suggesting some structures may not be impact-related.
Contribution
It introduces a citizen science approach combined with satellite data for impact crater detection in Iran, an area with limited prior research.
Findings
Initial structures identified as probable impact craters
Some structures likely have non-impact origins
Ongoing studies aim to confirm impact crater status
Abstract
To recognition probable impact craters in Iran, we use Google Earth data in the first step. Some probable structures identified and studies suggest non-impact origin for them. Studies on other craters in Iran are in progress.
