TL;DR
This paper explores the absorber theory of radiation by Wheeler and Feynman, proposing it offers a deeper understanding of photons than traditional quantum electrodynamics (QED).
Contribution
It introduces the absorber theory as an alternative framework that enhances conceptual clarity about photon behavior.
Findings
Absorber theory provides a more intuitive understanding of photon interactions.
It offers a different perspective from standard QED on radiation processes.
The approach potentially simplifies certain quantum electrodynamics concepts.
Abstract
We discuss the absorber theory of radiation as put forward by Wheeler and Feynman. We show that it gives a better understanding of the photon compared to the usual quantum electrodynamics (QED) picture.
