Micha{\l} J\'o\'zwikowski, Miko{\l}aj Rotkiewicz

TL;DR
This paper introduces a geometric framework for higher-order variational calculus using bundle-theoretic methods, providing a new interpretation of integration-by-parts on vector bundles.
Contribution
It offers a novel geometric formulation of higher-order variational calculus based on bundle-theoretic techniques, extending existing methods.
Findings
New geometric interpretation of integration-by-parts on vector bundles
A novel formulation of higher-order variational calculus
Enhanced understanding of geometric structures in variational problems
Abstract
We present a geometric interpretation of the integration-by-parts formula on an arbitrary vector bundle. As an application we give a new geometric formulation of higher-order variational calculus.
