TL;DR
This study analyzes the growth index using redshift-space distortion data to test deviations from the standard $ ext{Lambda}$CDM model and Einstein's gravity, finding slight deviations in Einstein's gravity but consistency with modified gravity.
Contribution
It provides updated constraints on the growth index $oldsymbol{\gamma_L}$ within Einstein's and modified gravity theories using recent cosmic observations and MCMC analysis.
Findings
Growth index $oldsymbol{\gamma_L}$ deviates from $oldsymbol{6/11}$ in Einstein's gravity.
No significant deviation from Einstein's relativity in modified gravity models.
Current data do not favor modifications beyond $ ext{Lambda}$CDM}$ under Einstein's gravity.
Abstract
The growth index was proposed to investigate the possible deviation from the standard CDM model and Einstein's gravity theory in a dynamical perspective. Recently, thanks to the measurement of the cosmic growth rate via the redshift-space distortion, one can understand the evolution of density contrast through , where is the growth rate of matter and is the rms amplitude of the density contrast at the comoving Mpc scale. In this paper, we use the redshift space distortion data points to study the growth index on the bases of Einstein's gravity theory and a modified gravity theory under the assumption of . The cosmic background evolution is fixed by the cosmic observations from the type Ia supernovae SNLS3, cosmic microwave background radiation data from {\it Planck}…
