TL;DR
This paper presents next-to-leading order QCD corrections to single-top t-channel production, incorporating off-shell and non-resonant effects, providing more accurate theoretical predictions for LHC processes.
Contribution
It introduces a comprehensive calculation including finite top-width effects, resonant and non-resonant contributions, and their interferences within the aMC@NLO framework.
Findings
Results show significant differences from narrow-width approximation.
Comparison with effective theory approaches highlights the importance of off-shell effects.
Enhanced accuracy in theoretical predictions for LHC single-top production.
Abstract
This letter details and discusses the next-to-leading order QCD corrections to -channel electro-weak production, where finite top-width effects are consistently taken into account. The computation is done within the aMC@NLO framework and includes both resonant and non-resonant contributions as well as interferences between the two. Results are presented for the LHC and compared to those of the narrow-width approximation and effective theory approaches.
