Pion photoproduction on nucleus with two-nucleon emission
I.V. Glavanakov, A.N. Tabachenko

TL;DR
This paper develops a nuclear model for pion photoproduction involving two-nucleon emission, incorporating $ riangle N$ correlations and analyzing direct and exchange mechanisms, to better understand reactions at high momentum transfer.
Contribution
It extends previous models by including $ riangle N$ correlations in the nuclear wave functions for pion photoproduction with two-nucleon emission.
Findings
Analyzed $^{12}$C$( ext{γ,}\pi^{+} p)$ and $^{12}$C$( ext{γ,}\pi^{-} p)$ reactions.
Identified the roles of direct and exchange mechanisms in the reactions.
Provided insights into pion production at large momentum transfers.
Abstract
A model for the pion photoproduction on nuclei in the reaction is presented. This is an extension of our recent model for the reaction. In this approach we have moved beyond the standard shell-model considering \textit{N} correlations in the nuclear wave functions, which are caused by the virtual transitions in the ground state of the nucleus. The main ingredients of the model are the two- and three-particle density matrices and the transition operators and . The direct and exchange reaction mechanisms, which follow from the structure of the density matrices, are examined. The model is used to investigate the C and C reactions in the kinematic…
