On the process dependent nuclear $k_\perp$ broadening effect
Andreas Sch\"afer, Jian Zhou

TL;DR
This paper investigates how nuclear matter affects the transverse momentum distributions of partons, considering process dependence and polarization effects within the TMD factorization framework and MV model.
Contribution
It introduces a detailed analysis of process-dependent nuclear $k_ot$ broadening effects, including polarized distributions, using TMD factorization and the MV model.
Findings
Nuclear $k_ot$ broadening depends on the process and gauge links.
Analysis includes polarized distributions like Boer-Mulders and linearly polarized gluons.
Focus on intermediate and large x regions.
Abstract
We study the process dependent nuclear broadening effect by employing the transverse momentum dependent(TMD) factorization approach in combination with the Mclerran-Venugopalan(MV) model. More specifically, we investigate how the parton transverse momentum distributions are affected by the process dependent gauge links in cold nuclear matter. In particular, our analysis also applies to the polarized cases including the nuclear quark Boer-Mulders function and the linearly polarized gluon distribution. Our main focus is on the nuclear TMDs at intermediate or large x.
