Functorial Factorizations in Pro Categories
Ilan Barnea, Tomer M. Schlank

TL;DR
This paper addresses the existence of functorial factorizations in pro categories, resolving an open problem and correcting a standard reference error, thereby advancing the theoretical understanding of morphism factorizations.
Contribution
It proves new propositions about morphism factorizations in pro categories, including solving an open problem and correcting a key reference.
Findings
Established the existence of certain functorial factorizations in pro categories
Corrected an error in a standard reference on pro categories
Provided theoretical foundations for morphism factorizations
Abstract
In this paper we prove a few propositions concerning factorizations of morphisms in pro categories, the most important of which solves an open problem of Isaksen concerning the existence of certain types of functorial factorizations. On our way we explain and correct an error in one of the standard references on pro categories.
