Clay Cordova, Daniel L. Jafferis

TL;DR
This paper derives the action for five-dimensional maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory in supergravity backgrounds, revealing new couplings and interactions that differ from flat space formulations.
Contribution
It introduces the off-shell supergravity background formulation for the 5D maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory, including novel BF couplings and scalar interactions.
Findings
New five-dimensional BF type couplings identified
Cubic scalar interactions vanish in flat space
Extended the understanding of supersymmetric gauge theories in curved backgrounds
Abstract
We determine the action for five-dimensional maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills in off-shell supergravity backgrounds. The resulting theory contains novel five-dimensional BF type couplings as well as cubic scalar interactions which vanish in flat space.
