TL;DR
This paper updates the database of key tracers like HII regions, GMCs, and methanol masers to improve the mapping of the Milky Way's spiral structure, which remains poorly outlined.
Contribution
It provides an updated and comprehensive database of spiral arm tracers for better mapping of the Milky Way's structure.
Findings
Enhanced database of spiral tracers
Improved potential for mapping spiral arms
Foundation for future structural analysis
Abstract
The spiral structure of our Milky Way has not yet been well outlined. HII regions, giant molecular clouds (GMCs) and 6.7-GHz methanol masers are primary tracers for spiral arms. We collect and update the database of these tracers which has been used in Hou, Han & Shi (2009) for mapping the spiral structure.
