Positivity of Thom polynomials and Schubert calculus
Piotr Pragacz

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that the positivity properties of Thom polynomials for various singularities are derived from Schubert calculus, linking algebraic geometry and singularity theory.
Contribution
It establishes a connection between Thom polynomial positivity and Schubert calculus, providing a new geometric interpretation.
Findings
Positivity of Thom polynomials for singularities
Positivity of Lagrangian and Legendrian Thom polynomials
Schubert calculus underpins these positivity results
Abstract
We describe the positivity of Thom polynomials of singularities of maps, Lagrangian Thom polynomials and Legendrian Thom polynomials. We show that these positivities come from Schubert calculus.
