Quantum electrodynamics in a laser and the electron laser collision
Qi-Ren Zhang

TL;DR
This paper formulates quantum electrodynamics in a laser environment, considering electron-laser interactions exactly and electron-photon interactions perturbatively, to analyze electron-laser collisions and explore gamma-ray laser generation.
Contribution
It introduces a new formulation of QED in a laser, fully accounting for photon coherence in electron-laser collisions, and discusses gamma-ray laser generation possibilities.
Findings
Electron-laser interactions are exactly modeled.
Photon coherence effects are fully incorporated.
Potential for gamma-ray laser generation is discussed.
Abstract
Quantum electrodynamics in a laser is formulated, in which the electron-laser interaction is exactly considered, while the interaction of an electron and a single photon is considered by perturbation. The formulation is applied to the electron-laser collisions. The effect of coherence between photons in the laser is therefore fully considered in these collisions. The possibility of ray laser generation by use of this kind of collision is discussed.
