Phase transitions in general gravity theories
Xian O. Camanho

TL;DR
This paper explores the construction of spacetime solutions in higher curvature gravity theories that enable the study of phase transitions between different vacua or asymptotic states at finite temperature.
Contribution
It introduces methods to construct solutions describing phase transitions between different branches of higher curvature gravity theories.
Findings
Provides a framework for analyzing phase transitions in higher curvature gravity.
Identifies conditions for the existence of solutions connecting different vacua.
Enhances understanding of thermodynamic behavior in modified gravity theories.
Abstract
Phase transitions between two competing vacua of a given theory are quite common in physics. We discuss how to construct the space-time solutions that allow the description of phase transitions between different branches (or asymptotics) of a given higher curvature gravity theory at finite temperature.
