Measurement of R = \boldmath${\mathcal{B}(t \rightarrow Wb)/\mathcal{B}(t \rightarrow Wq)} $ in Top--quark--pair Decays using Lepton+jets Events and the Full CDF Run II Data set
CDF Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper measures the ratio of top-quark decay probabilities to Wb versus Wq in proton-antiproton collisions, providing insights into the CKM matrix element |V_{tb}| and testing the Standard Model predictions.
Contribution
It presents the first measurement of R and |V_{tb}| using the full CDF Run II dataset, improving precision and testing the Standard Model assumptions.
Findings
Measured R = 0.94 ± 0.09
Determined t-tbar cross section = 7.5 ± 1.0 pb
Set lower limit |V_{tb}| > 0.89 at 95% CL
Abstract
We present a measurement of the ratio of the top-quark branching fractions , where represents quarks of type , , or , in the final state with a lepton and hadronic jets. The measurement uses = 1.96 TeV proton--antiproton collision data from 8.7 fb of integrated luminosity collected with the Collider Detector at Fermilab during Run II of the Tevatron. We simultaneously measure (stat+syst), the production cross section (stat+syst) pb. The magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element, (stat+syst) is extracted assuming three generations of quarks, and a lower limit of at 95% credibility level is set.
