Wormholes and Time-Machines in Nonminimally Coupled Matter-Curvature Theories of Gravity
Orfeu Bertolami, Ricardo Zambujal Ferreira

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates the existence of traversable wormholes and time-machines within a modified gravity theory featuring nonminimal matter-curvature coupling, even with ordinary matter obeying energy conditions.
Contribution
It introduces new solutions for wormholes and time-machines in a nonminimally coupled gravity framework, expanding possibilities beyond standard models.
Findings
Traversable wormholes exist with nontrivial redshift functions.
Time-machine solutions are possible in the modified theory.
Solutions are compatible with ordinary matter satisfying energy conditions.
Abstract
In this work we show the existence of traversable wormhole and time-machine solutions in a modified theory of gravity where matter and curvature are nonminimally coupled. Those solutions present a nontrivial redshift function and exist even in the presence of ordinary matter which satisfies the dominant energy condition.
