Stefan Gieseke, Christian Rohr (Karlsruhe U., ITP), Andrzej Siodmok, (University of Manchester)

TL;DR
This paper reviews the implementation of a multiple partonic interactions model in Herwig++, highlighting recent improvements in describing soft inclusive observables in proton-proton collisions at the LHC.
Contribution
It introduces an updated model for multiple partonic interactions in Herwig++ and demonstrates its enhanced performance in simulating LHC soft observables.
Findings
Improved description of soft inclusive observables in pp collisions
Enhanced modeling of colour structure effects in Herwig++
Better agreement with LHC data on soft event features
Abstract
We review the implementation of a model for multiple partonic interactions in Herwig++. Moreover, we show how recent studies on the colour structure of events in Herwig++ led to a significant improvement in the description of soft inclusive observables in pp interactions at the LHC.
