A Comment on Continuous Spin Representations of the Poincar\'e Group and Perturbative String Theory
Anamaria Font, Fernando Quevedo, Stefan Theisen

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that continuous spin representations of the Poincaré group do not appear in perturbative string theory, highlighting a fundamental low-energy limitation of these models.
Contribution
It provides a model-independent argument showing the absence of massless continuous spin representations in perturbative string theory.
Findings
Continuous spin representations are absent in perturbative string theory.
This absence is a fundamental low-energy consequence of string models.
Abstract
We make a simple observation that the massless continuous spin representations of the Poincar\'e group are not present in perturbative string theory constructions. This represents one of the very few model-independent low-energy consequences of these models.
