TL;DR
This paper studies how uncertainties in strange quark PDFs affect W/Z boson production predictions at the LHC and explores how LHC measurements can improve understanding of proton flavor structure.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of strange quark PDF uncertainties and assesses the potential of LHC data to refine proton flavor composition models.
Findings
Strange quark PDF uncertainties significantly influence W/Z production predictions.
LHC measurements can constrain the strange quark distribution within the proton.
Enhanced understanding of proton flavor structure from LHC data.
Abstract
We investigate the impact of parton distribution functions (PDFs) uncertainties on W/Z production at the LHC, concentrating on the strange quark PDF. Additionally we examine the extent to which precise measurements at the LHC can provide additional information on the proton flavor structure.
