TL;DR
This paper explores how heavy new physics could influence top quark decay processes using effective field theories, deriving constraints from current measurements.
Contribution
It demonstrates the application of effective field theories to top decay and provides bounds on new physics operators based on experimental data.
Findings
Constraints on dimension-six operator coefficients derived from measurements
Illustration of effective field theory features in top decay
Analysis of heavy new physics effects on top decay
Abstract
After a short introduction to effective field theories, most of their features are illustrated using the top decay. The effects of heavy new physics on the top decay are computed and the constraints on the coefficients of the dimension-six operators are derived from the available measurements.
