Radiative Processes in Quark-Gluon Plasma
Trambak Bhattacharyya, Surasree Mazumder, Jan-e Alam

TL;DR
This paper reevaluates gluon emission spectra in quark-gluon plasma, deriving a general dead cone expression and highlighting significant suppression effects due to high virtuality compared to heavy quark dead cones.
Contribution
It introduces a more accurate calculation of gluon emission spectra and a novel general expression for the dead cone effect in virtual partons.
Findings
High virtuality causes greater suppression than heavy quark dead cones.
Derived a comprehensive formula for gluon radiation in quark-gluon plasma.
Applied the new formula to various physical quantities.
Abstract
The spectrum of emitted gluons from the process has been evaluated by relaxing some of the approximations used in earlier works. The formula obtained in the present work has been applied to several physical quantities. A general expression for the dead cone of gluons radiated by virtual partons has been derived. It is observed that the suppression caused by the high virtuality is overwhelmingly large as compared to that on account of conventional dead-cone of heavy quarks.
