Ying-Ying Fan, Wen-Fei Wang, Shan Cheng, and Zhen-Jun Xiao

TL;DR
This paper calculates branching ratios and lepton flavor ratios for B to D(*) semileptonic decays using perturbative QCD, finding good agreement with experimental data and proposing new ratios sensitive to QCD effects.
Contribution
The study applies the pQCD factorization approach to compute semileptonic B decay ratios, including new ratios that are more sensitive to QCD dynamics than existing ones.
Findings
pQCD predictions for R(D) and R(D*) agree with BaBar measurements
New ratios R_D^l and R_D^τ are proposed and calculated
Predicted ratios can be tested in future experiments
Abstract
In this paper, we study the semileptonic decays and calculate the branching ratios and the ratios and by employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach. We find that (a) for and ratios, the pQCD predictions are , and agree well with BaBar's measurements of ; (b) for the newly defined and ratios, the pQCD predictions are and , which may be more sensitive to the QCD dynamics of the considered semileptonic decays than and should be tested by experimental measurements.
