TL;DR
This study investigates how strain influences metamagnetic transitions in $Sm_{0.5} Sr_{0.5} Mn O_3$ thin films, revealing strain-dependent magnetic and transport behaviors.
Contribution
It demonstrates the impact of compressive and tensile strain on the magnetic states of SSMO50 thin films, providing insights into strain-controlled magnetic transitions.
Findings
Strain alters the magnetic and magnetotransport properties.
Compressive strain induces different magnetic states than tensile strain.
Strain engineering can tune metamagnetic transitions.
Abstract
SSMO50 thin films were deposited by DC magnetron sputtering on LAO and STO substrates. The film on LAO is under compressive strain, while the film on STO is under tensile strain. All the magnetic and magnetotransport properties have been discussed in terms of strain controlled metamagnetic state.
