Hidetsugu Sakaguchi, Mai Gondou, and Haruo Honjo

TL;DR
This paper presents a coupled map lattice model to simulate three-dimensional dendrites, analyzing their fractal properties, sidebranch size distribution, and envelope formation to understand dendritic growth.
Contribution
It introduces a novel coupled map lattice approach for 3D dendrite simulation, focusing on detailed fractal and morphological characteristics.
Findings
Fractal dimensions of dendrites were quantified.
The size distribution of sidebranches was characterized.
The envelope structure of sidebranches was analyzed.
Abstract
Three dimensional dendrites are studied with a coupled map lattice model. We study the fractal dimensions, the f(\alpha) spectrum, the size distribution of sidebranches, and the envelope formed by sidebranches.
