TL;DR
This paper develops a class of interior solutions for (2+1)-dimensional stars matching the BTZ black hole exterior, demonstrating their physical viability and relevance for understanding lower-dimensional gravitational systems.
Contribution
It extends the Finch-Skea model to (2+1) dimensions, providing new interior solutions compatible with the BTZ exterior in lower-dimensional gravity.
Findings
The model is physically viable in (2+1) dimensions.
The solutions match the BTZ exterior spacetime.
The approach offers insights into lower-dimensional gravitational physics.
Abstract
The Ba\~{n}ados, Teitelboim and Zanelli\cite{BTZ} solution corresponding to the exterior space-time of a black hole in dimensions has been found to be very useful to understand various aspects relating to the gravitational field of a black hole. We present here a class of interior solutions corresponding to the BTZ exterior by making use of a model presented by Finch and Skea\cite{Finch} which was earlier found to be relevant for the description realistic stars in dimensions. We show physical viability of the model in lower dimensions as well.
