|V_us| from hadronic \tau{} decays
Elvira G\'amiz

TL;DR
This paper reviews methods and recent results for determining the CKM matrix element |V_us| through inclusive and exclusive hadronic tau decay measurements, highlighting current status and future prospects.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive review of both inclusive and exclusive tau decay channels used to extract |V_us|, emphasizing recent experimental data and analysis techniques.
Findings
|V_us| values from tau decays are consistent with other determinations.
Experimental uncertainties are decreasing with new data.
Future measurements could improve precision further.
Abstract
We review the status and future prospects of the determination of the CKM matrix element |V_us| using inclusive strange hadronic \tau{} decay data. We also review the results for |V_us| extracted from experimental measurements of some exclusive \tau{} decay channels such as \tau-> K \nu{} and \tau-> \pi \nu.
