Charged black holes in Palatini $f(R)$ theories
G. J. Olmo, D. Rubiera-Garcia

TL;DR
This paper explores charged black hole solutions within Palatini $f(R)$ theories of gravity, highlighting deviations from classical solutions and emphasizing the ghost-free, second-order nature of these models.
Contribution
It presents new charged black hole solutions in Palatini $f(R)$ theories, extending the understanding of black holes beyond General Relativity.
Findings
Charged black holes differ from Reissner-Nordstr"om solutions.
Palatini $f(R)$ theories are ghost-free with second-order equations.
New solutions exhibit unique horizon structures.
Abstract
In extensions of General Relativity the Palatini approach provides ghost-free theories with second-order field equations and allows to obtain charged black hole solutions which depart from the standard Reissner-Nordstr\"om solution.
