Homotopy colimits of model categories
Julia E. Bergner

TL;DR
This paper introduces a definition for homotopy colimits of model categories, extending previous work on homotopy limits, and verifies its consistency within the complete Segal space model for homotopy theories.
Contribution
It provides the first formal definition of homotopy colimits of model categories and confirms its alignment with existing models using complete Segal spaces.
Findings
Definition of homotopy colimit of model categories
Verification within complete Segal space model
Consistency with model-category-theoretic framework
Abstract
Building on a previous definition of homotopy limit of model categories, we give a definition of homotopy colimit of model categories. Using the complete Segal space model for homotopy theories, we verify that this definition corresponds to the model-category-theoretic definition in that setting.
